■国内初、経鼻インフルエンザワクチン「フルミスト」承認 2024年度の秋冬シーズンから供給へ

　国内初となる、注射ではなく鼻の中に吹き掛けるタイプのインフルエンザワクチンが、正式に承認されました。供給開始は、2024年度の秋冬シーズンからとなる予定です。
　第一三共は、インフルエンザの経鼻ワクチン「フルミスト」の国内での製造販売が厚生労働省から承認されたと発表しました。
　「フルミスト」は、左右の鼻の中に１回ずつ計０・２ミリリットルを噴霧します。弱毒化した生ワクチンを鼻の粘膜に投与することで免疫の働きを高め、インフルエンザの発症を予防するタイプのワクチンで、２歳から18歳が対象となります。
　ワクチンはイギリスの製薬会社アストラゼネカの子会社メディミューンが開発し、すでに欧米で使われています。第一三共が日本での開発・販売権をメディミューンから取得して開発し、2016年に厚労省に承認申請していました。
　第一三共によりますと、正式に承認されたものの、2023年度の秋冬シーズンには供給が間に合わないため、実際に発売を始めるのは2024年度の秋冬シーズンからの予定だということです。
　注射ではなく、鼻に吹き掛けるタイプのインフルエンザワクチンの承認は国内で初となり、注射に苦手意識を持つ子供にとって接種の選択肢が広がる可能性があります。
