　予防薬については、アメリカの製薬大手メルクも今月、抗ウイルス薬「モルヌピラビル」を使った最終段階の治験を始めたと発表。飲み薬で、治験には18歳以上の1332人が参加する予定で、年内に結果がまとまる見通しとしています。
　同社はこのほか、入院していない軽症から中等症の感染者を対象にした治験も進めている。
　一方、ファイザーのアルバート・ブーラ最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）は26日、アメリカのメディアのインタビューで、「１年以内に日常生活を取り戻すことができるだろう」との見方を示しました。そのためには年１度のコロナワクチンの接種が必要になると指摘しました。５～11歳の子供を対象とするコロナワクチンについては、数日内にアメリカ食品医薬品局（ＦＤＡ）に承認申請を行うといいます。
