■107歳の日本人姉妹、史上最高齢の双子に認定 ギネス世界記録 [健康ダイジェスト]
ギネスワールドレコーズジャパン社は21日までに、９月１日に107歳300日となった香川県在住の炭山ウメノさんと、大分県在住の兒玉コウメさんの双子の姉妹を、「存命中の最高齢の一卵性双生児」と「史上最高齢の一卵性双生児」として、ギネス世界記録に認定したと発表しました。
名古屋市に在住していた成田きんさん（2000年死去）、蟹江ぎんさん（2001年死去）の双子姉妹の記録は、きんさんが死去した107歳175日で、これを上回りました。
発表によると、２人は1913年（大正２年）11月５日、香川県の小豆島で、11人きょうだいの３人目（長女）と４人目（次女）として生まれました。
当時は双子であることを理由にいじめられることもあったといいます。コウメさんは尋常小学校を卒業すると小豆島を出て結婚。２人は300キロ以上離れて暮らすようになり、冠婚葬祭でたまに顔を合わせる程度でしたが、70歳すぎから一緒に四国霊場八十八カ所巡礼もしたといいます。
家族によりますと、２人は年を重ねるにつれ、「きんさんとぎんさんの長寿記録を目標にしたい」と口にしていたといいます。
現在は、共に介護施設に入所している２人には、新型コロナウイルスの感染予防のため郵送でギネス記録の公式認定証が送られ、施設の職員から受け取ったウメノさんは涙を浮かべました。コウメさんは記録を認識することは困難だといいます。
男性の一卵性双生児では、アメリカの兄弟が2000年１月に105歳で最高齢と認定されています。
