■アストラゼネカ製ワクチン は「安全」 ヨーロッパ医薬品庁が発表

　ヨーロッパ連合（ＥＵ）で医薬品の審査を担当するヨーロッパ医薬品庁（ＥＭＡ）は18日、イギリスの製薬大手アストラゼネカの新型コロナウイルスワクチンについて、安全性を確認したと発表し、指摘された血栓との因果関係はないと結論付けました。同ワクチンの接種を見合わせていたドイツやフランス、イタリアは、19日に接種を再開する方針を示した。
　記者会見でＥＭＡのエグゼクティブディレクター、エマ・クック氏は「このワクチンは安全で有効だという明確で科学的な結論に達した。新型コロナウイルスから人々を守るメリットはリスクを上回る」と述べました。特定の生産ロットでの品質問題があった証拠も見付からなかったとしました。
　一方で、血栓の中でもより希少な症例については、現時点のデータからは関連性を決定的には排除できないとしました。こうした症例は、17日時点で2000万回の接種のうち、接種後に25例が報告されたといいます。ＥＭＡは、医療関係者や接種者などへのリスクの周知を徹底することを推奨しました。
　アストラゼネカのワクチンを巡っては、イギリスを含むヨーロッパ各国で接種した約2000万人のうち469例の血栓障害が確認されたことから、ドイツやフランスなどヨーロッパの15以上の国が一時的に接種を見合わせています。ＥＭＡは先週来、継続接種を勧めるのと並行して、専門家委員会で症例を詳しく調べていました。フランス、ドイツ、イタリアなどは、ＥＭＡの調査結果を再開の条件にしていました。
　ＥＵは、同ワクチンを追加可能分を含め４億回分契約ずみ。データベース「アワー・ワールド・イン・データ」によると、人口100人当たりの接種人数は17日時点で約12人と、イギリスやアメリカと比べて遅れています。接種が再開される見通しとなったことで加速が期待される一方で、市民による同ワクチンへの不信感も生まれており、その払拭が課題となります。
　ドイツのイェンス・シュパーン保健相は18日夜、19日からアストラゼネカ製ワクチンの接種を再開すると明らかにしました。フランスのジャン・カステックス首相も18日の記者会見で、「19日午後から接種を再開する。私自身も接種を受ける予定だ」と語りましたた。
　イタリアも、19日から投与を再開します。マリオ・ドラギ首相は18日に出した声明で、「ＥＭＡの発表を歓迎する。政府の優先事項は、可能な限り短時間で多くの接種を達成することに変わりはない」と述べました。スペイン紙パイスも18日、スペイン政府が来週から同社ワクチンの接種を再開する方針だと報じました。
　ＥＭＡの決定を受け、アストラゼネカのアン・テイラー最高医学責任者は18日、「我々のワクチンの高い有用性について確認する当局の判断を歓迎する」とコメントしました。
