睡眠時間と精神状態の関係を比較したところ、うつ病や不安障害の疑いがある人の割合は、理想の睡眠時間を確保している場合や、理想より１時間不足している場合では20％未満でした。これに対し、理想から２時間不足すると約28％、３時間不足すると約38％に上り、理想と実際の睡眠時間の差が広がると、精神状態が悪化する傾向がみられました。差が広がるにつれて、幸福感も低下する傾向がみられました。
また、前日の疲労を翌朝に持ち越すことがある人の割合は、労働時間が「週20～40時間未満」で約53％だったのに対し、「週60時間以上」では約69％に達しました。
「週60時間以上」だった人は2022年に８・９%で、前年から０・１ポイント増え、９年ぶりに増加に転じました。「週60時間以上」働いている人の４割以上が理想の睡眠時間から２時間以上不足していました。
白書は、「労働時間が長い人は疲労を翌日に持ち越しやすく、うつ傾向も高い。心身の健康を保つため、睡眠時間を確保することが重要になる」としています。
白書ではこのほか、芸術・芸能分野で働く人たちの労働実態も初めて調査。640人の回答を分析したところ、「声優・アナウンサー」（35人）の約26％、「俳優・スタントマン」（108人）の約20％がセクハラ被害を受けた経験があると答えました。
