高福主任は、「種類の違うワクチンを交互に接種すること」などを例として挙げ、アメリカのファイザー製などと同じ種類の「メッセンジャーＲＮＡ」ワクチンを、「無視してはいけない」と指摘したということです。
中国政府は新型コロナのワクチン接種が４月10日までに１億6000万回を超えたと、成果をアピールする一方、ブラジルの保健当局が中国の科興控股生物技術（シノバック・バイオテック）製のワクチンの有効性を50・４％と発表するなど、安全性への懸念の声も上がっています。また、中国医薬集団（シノファーム）製のワクチンの有効性は79・34％、中国バイオ企業のカンシノ・バイオロジクス（康希諾生物）製は接種28日後で65・28％でした。
中国では外国製のワクチンが承認されておらず、現在、中国の軍事科学院などが臨床試験を行っている「メッセンジャーＲＮＡ」ワクチンを念頭に有効性を上げ、国際社会の懸念を一掃したい思惑があるとみられます。
