宮城県大崎市は８日、大崎市民病院で2015年３月、県内在住の30歳代（当時）の患者の正常な臓器の一部を腹腔（ふくくう）鏡手術で誤って摘出する医療事故があり、患者側に1200万円の解決金を支払うと発表しました。15日開会の市議会定例会に関連議案を提出します。
同病院が８日の市議会全員協議会で報告しました。同病院によると、手術担当者らの思い込みや確認漏れなどが原因といいます。同病院は治療費や定期健診費なども負担する方針。患者の性別や摘出された臓器などは「患者側の意向」として明らかにしていません。
大崎市民病院の担当者は、「ご迷惑をかけ、おわびする。再び同様の医療事故が起きないよう努めている」と話しています。
